The 2019 Brazilian Film Exhibition, co-sponsored by the Brazilian Embassy in China and the China Film Archive, will kick off in four cities, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Shenzhen Station will open at Shenzhen Broadway Cinema Center from November 26 to December 1.

This film festival will screen 6 high-quality Brazilian films, the opening film is "Invisible Woman". On the opening day, curator Max George, "Invisible Woman" starring Carol Duarte (Carol Duarte), "Rusty" heroine Tifanny Dopke (Tifanny Dopke), and "Fantasy Dream" "Ballet" director Allan Deberton (Allan Deberton) will also be present.

Compared with previous editions, the Brazilian Film Festival 2019 has many innovations.

First of all, it is the method of film selection. For the first time, the 2019 Brazilian Film Festival publicly solicits Brazilian films through registration and for the first time invited the well-known film producer Marcos Jorge as the curator. Therefore, this year's Film Festival has more films (over 70 film applications) and more professional curators, specifically selecting higher-quality films for Chinese audiences. Another key innovation of

is the establishment of the Best Picture Award, which will be awarded to the film with the highest score after being selected by the public in the screening city. After each screening, the public will be able to rate each film by scanning the QR code. Eight films of

will compete for the Best Picture Award. One of the main films in the competition is "Invisible Woman", which won the Best Film Award in the "A Kind of Concern" category at the Cannes Film Festival and will represent Brazil in the 2020 Oscar for Best International Film. The film tells the story of the forcible separation of two Rio de Janeiro sisters in the 1950s. During the film exhibition, the heroine Carol Duarte will visit the opening scene and interact with the audience.

's other major participating film is "Rusty", which won the Gramado Film Festival's Best Picture Award. Gramado Film Festival is one of the most important film festivals in Brazil. This film is still in mainstream international films such as Sundance Festival screening. "Invisible Woman" deeply portrays the social oppression of women in the 1950s, while "Rusty" portrays the oppression of women on contemporary social media to the audience. This year's Brazilian Film Festival also invited Tifanny Dopke, the heroine of "Rusty", to interact with Chinese audiences after the film screening on the 27th. The

participating film "Dreaming Ballet" premiered at the last Shanghai International Film Festival and was well received by the Chinese public. This comedy tells the touching story of a retired ballet teacher's decision to return to his hometown in rural Brazil. It also talks about the possible oppression of women in a relaxed and delicate way. Director Allan Deberton (Allan Deberton) will visit the screening of "Dream Ballet" on the 28th. Other films selected by

curator Marx George include "Father's Shadow", "Name of Death", "Simonal", "The Problem Family" and "All Songs About Love". Please check below for information about all the films, guests and the complete schedule during the festival.
