CMA CGM Announces Year-end Awards! 10-week salary bonus to all staff and seafarers

According to French media reports, Rodolphe Saadé, CEO of CMA CGM Group, recently announced a bonus higher than last year at a year-end party with employees, and will distribute a year-end bonus of 10 weeks' salary to all employees, including sailors. A deal to boost wages for sedentary workers was also signed a few days ago.


It is reported that this news was also notified to all employees by email. CMA CGM said in an email that to celebrate the company's outstanding performance in 2022, Group CEO Rodolphe Saade announced a special bonus of 10 weeks' salary.


Eligible employees will receive this bonus in December 2022 or January 2023. Associates who are new to the job on or before December 1, 2022 will receive a pro-rated bonus based on how long they have been with the company this year.


CMA CGM said that this move shows that talent is the company's greatest asset, and it is precisely because of excellent employees that CMA CGM can achieve such outstanding performance.

Last year, CMA CGM gave out year-end bonuses equivalent to eight weeks’ salary to all employees and seafarers in its shipping division.


CMA CGM's performance this year is stronger than last year, and 's total revenue and net profit in the first three quarters have exceeded last year's full year.


In the third quarter of this year, the company’s operating income was US$19.9 billion, a year-on-year increase of 29.9%; net profit was US$7.04 billion, a year-on-year increase of 25.1%; EBITDA was 9.15 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 28.8% year-on-year.


In the first half of this year, the company's operating income was US$37.7 billion, a year-on-year increase of 63%; net profit was US$14.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 166.3%. The total revenue in the first three quarters reached 57.6 billion U.S. dollars, exceeding the 56 billion U.S. dollars in the whole of last year; the total net profit reached 21.84 billion U.S. dollars, higher than last year's 17.9 billion U.S. dollars.


In addition, Evergreen , which issued 40-month year-end awards last year, has also attracted the attention of the industry on how much year-end awards will be issued this year. It is reported that the Evergreen year-end bonus will be distributed on December 30 this Friday, but the exact amount is still unknown, and it is guessed to be 60 months' salary. The year-end release time of Yangming and Wanhai is after Evergreen, around January next year.
