On December 21, Taiwan's "Vision" magazine released a poll showing that nearly half of the people are satisfied with the results of the "nine-in-one" election ; as many as 56% of the people think that there may be a political party rotation in 2024; 43% People are pessimistic about the economic development in 2023, and 31% think it will get better, the lowest in 12 years. Ji Xin pointed out in the article that the DPP held several review meetings after the election, but because the "cabinet" has not been reorganized and has not proposed a reform plan, many green camp supporters do not buy it, and those who call themselves "forever Taiwan faction" Kuling listed the "16 major reasons" for the DPP's defeat on Facebook, which aroused widespread repercussions. At the "Report to Party Members-Political Opinion Presentation Meeting", Lai Qingde, the chairman candidate of the Democratic Progressive Party, heard party members complain that the DPP is too arrogant to suffer the people; cannon fodder. All of the above shows that the DPP's comprehensive "government" has caused difficulties in people's livelihood and uneasiness among the people.
Ji Xin believes that there are two other major events that happened in December, which are related to the future of Taiwan and deserve attention. One is that TSMC, the "Taiwan-protecting sacred mountain", was forced to be further transplanted to the United States. Even its founder could not help complaining, but the DPP authorities dared not say a word. Aren't they afraid of Taiwan's economic and security problems? Second, Ji Xin said that the US Senate passed the so-called "2023 Fiscal Year National Defense Authorization Act " negotiated version on December 15, threatening to authorize 10 billion U.S. dollars in free military aid to Taiwan within five years, and provide up to 2 billion U.S. dollars in military financing, the foreign affairs department of the Democratic Progressive Party claimed on the same day that the U.S. "both the quality and quantity of its support have reached a record high." Of the US$1.66 trillion allocated, Taiwan will be provided with up to US$2 billion in annual military financing, but free military aid is not included in the annual allocation. In this regard, the US "Defense News" interpreted that "this represents Taiwan's setback."
Ji Xin pointed out that Biden administration officials often talk about "US-Taiwan relations as rock-solid", and even Biden himself said four times that "will help defend Taiwan", but the US Congress blatantly violated its promise. Tsai Ing-wen and the civil and military officials in Taiwan do not need to skip their feet, but we must tell the DPP authorities not to finance the US military, and the debts will keep children and grandchildren, which will further deteriorate cross-strait relations.
Ji Xin emphasized that from the results of the "Nine-in-One" and the failure of the so-called "18-year-old Citizenship Amendment Referendum", we can know that the people of Taiwan are wise and capable of teaching the "ruling party". In addition to having a clean and capable public sector, they are also unwilling to be equipped by the United States as a gunpowder depot, let alone let Taiwanese children be used as cannon fodder.
