People's Daily Online, Stockholm, October 2 (Reporter Yin Miao) Recently, the "World's End Together" Mid-Autumn Festival concert hosted by the China Cultural Center in Stockholm was held in the auditorium of Uppsala University in Sweden. Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Cui Aimin and Uppsala Deputy Mayor Stefan Hanna attended and delivered speeches. Nearly a thousand people including Chinese and Swedish scholars, students and local friends from all walks of life attended the event.
Cui Aimin said in his speech that the Mid-Autumn Festival is a beautiful moment for Chinese people to express their happiness and reunion. China and Sweden have a profound foundation of traditional friendship and cooperation, and have enjoyed wonderful people-to-people and cultural exchanges. Uppsala’s diverse cultural atmosphere and free academic spirit are conducive to enhancing understanding and friendship among international students and expanding Sino-Swiss exchanges and cooperation. Currently, China is promoting Chinese-style modernization with high-quality development, providing more new development opportunities for countries around the world, including Sweden. It is hoped that this event will promote cultural exchanges between China and Sweden and deepen the friendship between the two peoples.
The Chinese and Western symphonic works performed by Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra musicians resonated strongly with the audience and won repeated applause.
