On the morning of September 20, Shi Banyu’s farewell ceremony was held in the Lan Hall of Babaoshan Funeral Home in Beijing.

Zhou Xingchi sent a flower basket to express his condolences, which read: I will miss Mr. Shi Banyu forever.

Director Li Lichi and the crew of "The Nonsensical Life" also presented flowers in memory.

Li Lichi wrote in an article: "I will always miss Teacher Shi Banyu, the laughter will last forever, and I will see you in heaven." Taiwanese voice actor, visiting professor of Jilin Animation Institute.

His representative dubbing works include " Gambler ", " Jidao Academy ", "Young and Dangerous" and so on. He began to engage in dubbing work in 1983. In 1990, he dubbed Stephen Chow for the first time in the movie "The Gambler". Stephen Chow's nonsensical acting skills coincided with Shi Banyu's exaggerated voice, thus becoming Stephen Chow's queen dubbing.

Shi Banyu has dubbed more than 300 film and television dramas since his career, including the classic TV series "The Legend of White Snake", in which Shi Banyu dubbed 16 characters.

Shi Banyu died of illness in Beijing on September 17 at the age of 66. Shi Banyu's agent once stated that the cause of his death was cardiac arrest.
