On the eve of the opening of the 19th China Changchun Film Festival, the reporter interviewed Jin Deshun, one of the screenwriters of the movie "Gunshots from the Security Bureau", and listened to the story of the movie told by the veteran filmmaker.

When talking about "Gunshots of the Security Bureau", Jin Deshun recalled that after the film was released, many cinemas started showing it at 4 a.m. every day and continued to show it until 12 midnight. The venues were full and some people watched it several times.
Jin Deshun believes that the presentation of a good film cannot be separated from the close cooperation of various departments such as director, actors, camera, service staff, etc., but having a good script is the key prerequisite. "Script, script, the foundation of a play. Without a good script as a foundation, no matter how good the director is, it will be difficult to make a classic film." And how to create a good script requires hard work and real effort.
Jin Deshun recalled that although the novel was used as a basis for the script creation of "Gunshots from the Secret Bureau", it was just a framework. In order to collect more comprehensive and detailed information at the time, he and another screenwriter Zheng Quan visited Chongqing , Beijing, Wuhan, Nanjing, Shanghai and many other cities. In Chongqing, they met Zhang Ruifang, a revolutionary senior who had actually worked in the underground party. Her narration added many vivid and real details to the script creation. In the Shanghai Archives, the real deeds of an underground party member made them decide to add a supporting character in the script that left a deep impression on the audience-Lao San Chang Liang.
With sufficient and detailed information as a basis, Zheng Quan and Jin Deshun began to immerse themselves in creation in Qingdao. They stayed there for two months. "We were so close to the beach at the time that we didn't have time to go and see it." Jin Deshun said.
