The dance drama "Cavalry" is the first large-scale original dance drama with the theme of cavalry in the history of Chinese stage art. It tells a work that reflects the turning point of the times and the close connection between personal destiny choices and the destiny of the country; a work that reflects the transcendence of man and horse. The play is divided into six acts. The first half is "The Return of the Man", "The Sorrow on the Grassland" and "Farewell to the Army", and the second half is "The Love of the War Horse", "Hero's Tears" and "The Soul of the Cavalry". It tells the story of the Mongolian youth Chaolu who will fight against the enemy at a historical juncture. Personal choice is closely connected with national choice. The story of joining the Inner Mongolia People's Cavalry and fighting for the liberation of all China. On the battlefield, Chaolu was not afraid of sacrifice and fought bravely against the enemy; after the founding of the People's Republic of China, he chose to put aside his glory and return to his hometown loyal to his inner yearning for peace.
The dance drama "Cavalry" was created by the Inner Mongolia Art Theater by inviting well-known national and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region artists and cavalry revolution historians.
