The ratings of TV series broadcast by CCTV are basically stable. However, despite the star cast and inspirational themes of the drama " red hot ", the performance of the drama after it was broadcast was shocking. Just eight days after it aired, it dropped from the top spot to No. 11, and its ratings fell far short of expectations. What happened to make this drama that was supposed to be the most popular drama become a failure?
1. The plot and characters are too flawed
Although "Red Heat" had a good reputation after it was broadcast, its popularity and ratings did not meet expectations. The reason is that the plot of "Red Heat" itself is not that attractive.
First of all, the theme of "Red Heat" is a bit too advanced. This drama tells the story of a group of talented people who returned to China to develop domestic chips from the 1990s to 2000, the golden period of development of the domestic semiconductor industry.
Obviously, this drama is about the story between talented people in scientific research. The characters are all from prestigious universities, and the protagonists do not even have a master's degree.
These powerful characters are too far away from ordinary people's lives. In recent years, everyone seems to prefer to watch stories that are close to real life. It is difficult for the audience to resonate with such dramas, and the sense of immersion is relatively poor.
Secondly, since it is a TV series about professional themes, "Red Heat" has too many plot bugs. In the drama, the male protagonist Zhang Haichao played by Huang Xiaoming is an honest and honest Tsinghua University academic master, while Huang Linxi played by Wang Ou is a female sales liar who deceives and abducts.
As a top student at Tsinghua University, Zhang Haichao is surrounded by friends who are top students. However, Huang Linxi, a female liar who sells fake goods, can actually have a good relationship and get along with this group of top students at Tsinghua University. This is a bit ridiculous. Huang Linxi in the
drama sells fake goods and makes fake advertisements. This bottomless and unprincipled behavior makes the audience worry about whether she will get into trouble in the future.
And in the 21st century, the drama can still create a dragging heroine like Huang Linxi, making the audience furious while watching the drama.
In the play, Huang Linxi fell in love with Zhang Haichao, a piece of fat, and started to post it. But these two people are not the same at all. Zhang Haichao cares about work, but Huang Linxi doesn't care. Their status and outlook are very different.
Zhang Haichao planned to participate in the global GPS competition with Berkeley, and Huang Linxi volunteered to inquire about the enemy's situation. His opponent Brian deliberately deceived Huang Linxi, causing the Tsinghua team to lose to his opponent. Zhang Haichao fell behind in the competition because of a problem with the contact lenses the heroine sold him.
Not only that, the contact lens problem also caused Zhang Haichao’s study abroad exam to fail. This mistake caused him to distance himself from his friends.
When Huang Linxi saw Zhang Haichao again, he could still ask confidently: "How many days has it been and you are still so angry?" The setting of the heroine Huang Linxi made people speechless. She messed up such an important thing. She But he didn't notice it at all.
Later, when Huang Linxi confessed his love, Zhang Haichao fell into the water and sprained his neck. Huang Linxi was his disaster. When the audience sees this, they will be abandoned by this trouble-making heroine every minute.
2. Actors pretending to be young affects the perception
In addition to the plot logic, the audience is also speechless when actors such as Huang Xiaoming and Wang Ou pretend to be young. Everyone can accept a young actor playing a teenager, but a middle-aged actor insists on pretending to be young, with thick bangs and twin tails, which makes it really difficult for people to get involved in the plot.
When Huang Xiaoming was in college, he looked like a school boy wearing dark glasses and thick bangs.
However, now that he is 46 years old, it makes people feel a little strange to pretend to be a young man. In the plot, Zhang Haichao is set to transform from a student to a successful businessman, but Huang Xiaoming's mature face and dull eyes really make it impossible for people to believe that he is a passionate young man.
For example, in the running scene in the drama, Huang Xiaoming is wearing shorts, and the muscles in his legs look quite strong, without any youthful temperament at all.
The other leading actor Wang Ou is not much better. The 41-year-old Wang Ou has permed his curly hair, which makes him look even older than his black hair. The yellow and blue eye shadow is really not good-looking.
Huang Linxi is set as a lively and cute girl who actively pursues Zhang Haichao after falling in love with her. However, Wang Ou's movements and expressions are a bit artificial, which makes people feel more inconsistent than Huang Xiaoming.
I hope actors can recognize their age, play roles that suit them, stop forcing themselves to act young, and give young people more opportunities.
At present, the results of the drama "Red Heat" are not satisfactory. For a TV series, a good script is the foundation, and suitable characters are the icing on the cake. I hope that future dramas can work more on the plot.
