2025 will be the year when the Marvel Cinematic Universe bravely moves into a new chapter. After more than a year of delays, restructuring and rethinking, the studio behind the most successful comic book movie franchise in history is returning to theaters with four new films, starting with Captain America: Brave New World.
The Red Giant appears
In the latest trailer for the fourth movie in the "Captain America" āāseries released by Marvel, Sam Wilson was recruited by U.S. President Thaddeus "Thunder" Ross to officially serve as Captain America, and seemed to begin to work for him. government job, and then the former Falcon becomes embroiled in a government conspiracy.
At the end of the trailer, a new Hulk appeared in Washington, D.C., and the Red Giant played by Harrison Ford gave a glimpse, which left a deep impression on people.
Who is the Red Giant?
In the Marvel world, the original Red Giant was General Thaddeus "Thunder" Ross. As early as 1961's "The Incredible Hulk" No. 1, he appeared together with Bruce Banner. General Thunderbolt Ross (who was just a regular guy for decades) is the Hulk's oldest enemy, a military leader obsessed with acquiring and controlling the Hulk's power, or at least destroying it.
html For years, General Thunder Ross has hunted down the Hulk through conventional (albeit increasingly powerful) weapons and tactics as a member of a military special forces unit known as the "Hulk Busters." Eventually, he decided to take a chance and match the Hulk's power through his own transformation. However, he did not make the transition on his own. Instead, he volunteered to be a test subject for the villain Modok's experiments on the Hulk. In the story "World War Hulk", Modok extracts gamma energy from Bruce Banner through a special satellite (made by Tony Stark), a process that prevents Banner from transforming into the Hulk.
Utilizing a combination of gamma rays and cosmic energy (the same energy that gives the Fantastic Four their powers in the Marvel Universe), modok gives General Thaddeus Ross the powers of the Red Hulk. Not only does he possess the strength of the original Hulk, but he also possesses his own vast military knowledge and cunning mind, as well as his fiery ability to absorb and release cosmic energy.
After successfully creating the Red Giant, Modok joined forces with the Hulk's other mortal enemy, the leader, to use the power of the Red Giant to avenge those who had harmed them and seek to gain control of power.
Cast
"Brave New World" will also return characters from Disney's "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" series, including Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America and Danny Ramirez as ās Joaquin Torres (Sam Wilsonās Falcon replacement in the comics), and Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley.
The film merges these characters with those from 2008's The Incredible Hulk. Tim Blake Nelson will complete his transformation into the Hulk's villainous leader, while Liv Tyler will reprise her role as Bruce Banner's former love interest Betty Ross.
Harrison Ford will play General Thaddeus Ross (replacing the late William Hurt), now the newly elected President of the United States.
In addition, Seth Rollins and Giancarlo Esposito will also appear in unannounced roles, which is very exciting! Unsurprisingly, Esposito will play a very evil-looking character.
"Brave New World" has had a bumpy road to release. The film completed principal photography in June 2023, but underwent a large number of reshoots in 2024 for several months.
The movie will be released on February 14, 2025. Marvel will also launch three more movies in 2025: "Thunderbolt," "Fantastic Four" and "Blade Runner."
