The film stars Stanley Johnson, the father of former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and his younger brother Max Johnson. It tells the story of the Johnsons and their son following Marco Polo's travel route in China in the 13th century, from China and Pakistan to the only two countries. The story of starting from Khunjerab Port, a land port, crossing the Inner Mongolia Plateau and finally arriving in Beijing.
