According to reports, Zhao Douchun was released from Suwon Detention Center at about 8 a.m. local time on the 19th, and returned to his residence in Tanwon District, Ansan City, Gyeonggi Province at about 9 a.m.
In December 2008, Cho Dou-soon kidnapped an elementary school student in Ansan City, Gyeonggi Province and sexually assaulted him, causing the latter to be seriously injured. In September 2009, Zhao Douchun was sentenced to 12 years in prison because he was found to have been drinking at the time of the incident. The incident was later made into the movie "Sowon" and aroused widespread attention and discussion.
Amid huge controversy, Zhao Douchun was released from prison on December 12, 2020.
On March 20, 2024 local time, the Suwon District Court in South Korea announced that Zhao Douchun was sentenced to 3 months in prison for violating the "night outing restriction order" after being released from prison.
reported that Zhao Douchun was accused of violating the legal order not to leave home between 9 pm and 6 am. Zhao Douchun told the police that he ran away from home after an argument with his wife and stayed outside for about 40 minutes.
