This year’s Shanghai International Film Festival launched a global call for films on December 15, 2023. As of March 31, a total of more than 3,300 entries and exhibitions from 105 countries and regions covering five continents were received. Among them, the number of films registered for the Golden Goblet Award main competition, Asian newcomers, documentaries, cartoons, and short films in five categories exceeds 2,300. New works by famous directors and new works produced by famous directors go hand in hand.
This year, the Shanghai International Film Festival screening theater recruitment received responses from 114 cinemas in the city. This year's film festival has a total of 53 screening theaters, covering 47 theaters in 16 districts in Shanghai, including the "Five New Cities", and 6 theaters in 5 cities in the Yangtze River Delta region.
There are 47 screening theaters in Shanghai covering a total of 16 districts. The audio-visual equipment of the screening theaters still has many highlights, including imax, dolby, onyx led, cinity, luxe, etc. The audio-visual experience of watching movies will continue to be upgraded. This year, after layers of screening, the three cinemas and in Minhang have been selected as the designated screening theaters of the Shanghai International Film Festival.
