On the evening of June 15, the 26th Shanghai International Film Festival Golden Goblet Ceremony was held at the Shanghai Grand Theater, kicking off the annual light and shadow event in Shanghai. Hu Heping, deputy director of the Central Propaganda Department in charge of daily work, announced the opening of the 26th Shanghai International Film Festival. Gong Zheng, deputy secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and mayor, delivered a welcome speech, and Wang Xiaozhen, deputy director of China Central Radio and Television, delivered a speech. Shanghai leaders Zhao Jiaming, Zhou Huilin, Liu Duo and Jin Xingming attended.

ceremony, the opening micro-movie "City of Movies" quickly brought the audience into the artistic atmosphere of Shanghai's summer. The judges of the five categories of the Golden Goblet Award Main Competition, Asian Newcomer, Documentary, Cartoon, and Short Film at this film festival appeared in sequence. The chairman of the main competition unit jury and French director Chen Yingxiong delivered a speech on behalf of the judges. Chinese actor Huang Xuan, Japanese actor Koji Yakusho, Hong Kong director Liu Weiqiang, and Chinese actor Xin Zhilei announced the 14 entries shortlisted for the main competition unit of this year's Golden Goblet Awards. Hosts Ren Luyu, Lan Yu, Chen Chen, Chinese director and producer Tang Jili, and Chinese director and screenwriter Zhang Mo jointly launched a narration on "AI artificial intelligence". At the end of the ceremony, Chinese director Guan Hu and actor Huang Bo jointly unveiled the opening film "The Waves That Never Die".
