Beijing time on June 14, Celtics star Jayson Tatum accepted an interview with the media on training day.
Reporter: You are one game away from winning the NBA Finals. How do you think your mentality has changed?
Tatum: I think from our experience over the past few years, what we've really done better is not relaxing, not being complacent. From game to game, series to series, we always want more. Even though is now leading 3-0, no one is celebrating. We still feel there's a lot more we can do.
Reporter: A few days ago, Jrue Holiday talked about looking up at the banner and thinking he wanted to be a part of it. What does winning the title mean to you? What does it mean for your career?
Tatum: Ever since I entered the NBA, especially with the Celtics, everyone knows that we only fly the championship flag, and we haven't won a championship for a while. Starting in 2008, our goal is to win again every year. It's just an honor. It's an honor to wear this jersey. I'm honored to follow in the footsteps of some of the best players of all time. To be part of Celtics history, you have to win a championship. Every kid who grows up playing basketball dreams of reaching the finals and winning a championship. I'm no different than anyone else.
