In Shanghai, a group of young people from the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra not only performed Ruan music vividly, but also created their own folk music group - the "Fashionable Pinxian" Ruan group. On May 19, this group of folk musicians held a special concert of "Yao Pei Jade Zheng Zheng" Liu Bo and "Fashion Pin Xian" at the Cadillac Shanghai Concert Hall, showing the charming charm of Ruan art.

"The Ruan instrument is both ancient and modern. Its mellow, harmonious and unobtrusive character closely resembles the characteristics of traditional Chinese culture. When a group of Ruan instruments are played together, its sound seems to reach directly into people's hearts." Ruan Part of the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra Principal Liu Bo is a famous Ruan performer, a national first-class performer, and the first Ruan major to receive a bachelor's degree from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Liu Bo has an outstanding sense of music, and his playing is deep, delicate and highly infectious. Since 2001, he has been invited to teach the Ruan major at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music as a guest and is a powerful promoter of the popularization and development of Ruan music.
Liu Bo founded the Ruan ethnic group "Fashion Pinxian" of the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra. The group was formed by herself and many young Ruan performers she has trained over the years. Since its establishment, the group has composed and arranged many musical works. The group premiered more than ten original works and dozens of repertoire.

"'Fashion Pinxian' was originally formed by a few students and I spontaneously 'playing', and now it has become a youth brand affiliated with the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra. The nature of the profession requires us not only to 'play', but also to take on responsibilities We should take responsibility and let the Ruan people truly become a medium with oriental aesthetic characteristics and convey the Chinese humanistic spirit." This concert also includes a number of original Ruan ethnic works of Shanghai-style folk music tailored for "Fashion Pinxian". For example, "Drunken Madness" is adapted from a guqin piece said to be composed by Ruan Ji, one of the "Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove" in the Jin Dynasty; "Out of the Water Lotus" is adapted from a traditional Hakka zither piece, with a simple and elegant style, depicting the grace of a lotus emerging from the mud but not stained "Three Six" was adapted by Gu Guanren, the orchestra's lifelong artistic consultant and famous composer, based on the famous Jiangnan silk and bamboo music; "Playing the tambourine and singing hymns" presents a strong Xinjiang style, with lively, cheerful, sincere and affectionate tunes, showing a beautiful picture of frontier life.
"The goal of these works was very clear when they were commissioned. While looking back at the outstanding traditional literati music, they should also conform to the aesthetic and psychological rhythm of the current audience, and be able to express the temperament of Chinese culture using modern creative techniques. The music is high-pitched but not low-key. I hope we can leave more classics for future generations," Liu Bo said.

He will perform and lead all the performers of the Sheng section of the orchestra to perform a series of Sheng music works of different arrangements and styles. Showcasing the youthful sound of ancient musical instruments; in addition, a cross-border concert "Encounter" composed of suona, bagpipes, and electronic sounds will also be performed at the 1862 Fashion Art Center in June. The orchestra's suona player Hu Chenyun will join hands with a Scottish bagpipe player , performs cross-border works with diverse styles, and opens a musical dialogue that spans the East and West.
