May 19 this year is the 34th National Day to Help the Disabled. On the evening of May 16, a large-scale urban original music melodrama "Light of Happiness" jointly produced by the Chengdu Disabled Persons' Federation and Sichuan Conservatory of Music and based on the stories of disabled people in Chengdu was performed at the Chengdu City Concert Hall. Representatives of teachers and students from Chengdu special education schools and representatives of caring enterprises were specially invited to watch the event. On the
stage, a group of special actors used real story prototypes and true interpretations to convey the protagonist's strength and confidence, and the love and tolerance of the city infected everyone present.
"The Light of Happiness" was created by the well-known screenwriter Pan Naiqi and stars the Chengdu "Achieving Dreams" Disability Integrated Art Troupe. It is supported by Chengdu Special Education School, Sichuan Conservatory of Music Drama School and Dance Academy. The play is set in the city of Chengdu and is adapted from the real experiences of outstanding representatives of persons with disabilities such as blind writer Chen Guangjiong and deaf young dancer Zhang Tianjiao. It tells the story of a blind boy named Ah Huo who emerges from darkness and loneliness with the help and encouragement of the city and everyone. The story of coming out and embracing life again.
The play is divided into four scenes: Winter Silence, Spring Growth, Summer Growth, and Autumn Harvest. The change and transformation of the four seasons throughout the year symbolizes the protagonist's life journey of constantly fighting against fate, breaking out of difficulties, enduring hardships, and finally reaping happiness. Through the performance of the musical melodrama, the play conveys an optimistic and confident attitude towards life to everyone, letting the light of happiness shine on everyone in the warm city.
