On April 27, the opening ceremony of "Hong Kong·Shanghai TV Week" and the Hong Kong premiere of "Why China" were held in the lecture hall of the Hong Kong Palace Museum.
Shanghai Radio and Television Station (smg) and Radio Television Hong Kong (rthk) signed a memorandum of cooperation at the sixth meeting of the Shanghai-Hong Kong Cooperation Conference on the 26th, agreeing to further deepen friendly cooperation in the cultural field between Shanghai and Hong Kong and organize the "Hong Kong·Shanghai TV Week" "Let's tell the story of China and the twin cities of Hong Kong and Shanghai together.

Song Jiongming, director of Shanghai Radio and Television Station, expressed the hope that the programs selected for the "Hong Kong·Shanghai TV Week" can better promote mutual understanding, intimacy and integration between the people of Shanghai and Hong Kong. This cooperation between Shanghai and Hong Kong dual cities will write a new chapter in media cooperation between the two places. In the future, both parties will work together to lead the way, each showing its strengths, jointly serving the country's high-quality development, and continuing to write a wonderful story of two cities.
Mr. Cheung Kwok-choi, Director of Broadcasting of the Hong Kong SAR Government and Director of Radio Television Hong Kong, said in his speech that Radio Television Hong Kong has always been committed to strengthening cooperation with mainland media and promoting Chinese culture to the world. During the sixth meeting of the Shanghai-Hong Kong Cooperation Conference, Radio Television Hong Kong and Shanghai Radio and Television signed a memorandum of cooperation and jointly presented the "Hong Kong·Shanghai TV Week", symbolizing the determination of the media in Hong Kong and Shanghai to have closer ties.
"Hong Kong·Shanghai TV Week" officially kicked off from the 27th. A number of cultural and special programs of Shanghai Radio and Television Station will be broadcast on TV Channel 31, including the large-scale documentary "Why China" and the introduction of Shanghai-style culture "Xia" One Stop", and the second season of "Amazing Treasures·Treasure Exploration Shanghai" which takes a closer look at the treasures of the Shanghai Museum.
In addition, Shanghai Radio and Television Station also co-produced the character feature "Meeting in Two Cities" with Radio Television Hong Kong, interviewing Hong Kong people living in Shanghai and Shanghai people living in Hong Kong, telling how the environmental advantages of the two places have created one extraordinary person after another. Hong Kong member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and violinist Yao Jue was one of the people interviewed. She was invited to attend the opening ceremony of "Hong Kong·Shanghai TV Week" and led the Asian Youth String Orchestra to perform "My Chinese Heart" to add color to the event.
After the opening ceremony, the large-scale documentary "Why China" (Cantonese version) premiered in Hong Kong. The film was shot by Shanghai Radio and Television Station over three years. It uses a documentary form combined with narrative scene reenactments to reshape China from the Qin and Han Dynasties through an archaeological perspective. It traces back nearly 10,000 years of evolution and explores the long-standing Chinese civilization.
