Read, often alone. But many times, when I read something that interests me, I feel a connection in my heart. I really hope that I can read with like-minded book friends, and then read with pleasure.
htmlTen years ago, several alumni and book friends got together because of books. While chatting, they were all full of hopes for reading together. The idea was to read a book together for one hour every weekend at 8 o'clock in the evening. After two rounds of discussions and one round of voting, the "Joyful Reading Club" was established, and a 12-book reading list for the year was selected from nearly 30 books. Everyoneās idea at the time was very simple: find ways to increase their annual reading volume. If one person reads fast, a group of people can read far. Even if there are only single-digit partners reading together, one can read at least 12 books in depth in a year. The first book we read together was the popular "Flowers". This is a regional novel with distinctive Shanghai characteristics. It is a novel that spans more than 30 years since the 1960s. It is full of human fireworks, always beautiful and confusing, and frequently alternates between two narrative axes of time and space. The author's delicate writing style and profound pictures made us readers in the reading club, whether they had experienced it or not, feel unfinished for four weekends. Our joint reading thus got off to a good start.
Here, I would like to thank the host Amy. She is a rational and rigorous person, speaking like a broadcaster, soft yet firm, and whispering with emotion. She is always the first to appear online and greets everyone enthusiastically, making everyone who participates feel natural and familiar, whether they know her or not. She also encourages everyone to actively sign up for theme sharing every time, so that sharing is both organized and hierarchical. Due to the charm of joint reading, more and more people are signing up after hearing about it or being introduced by friends. Some of them are from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and Anhui, some from Fujian, Guangdong, Henan, and some from remote areas. I felt the harvest and joy of reading together. Shared reading starting at 8pm every Sunday has become an unshakable arrangement for everyone. The host's repeatedly emphasized principle of "no screen recording, no face showing, no replay, and it will automatically end in one hour" has also become a very enjoyable way to play. Several times, the meeting was over before those who were still sharing had finished speaking, so they ended it in the group without vomiting.
One hour on Sunday night, it became a tree hole for everyone to share after reading, which was peaceful and lively.
Looking back at the book list, we have read the three books "Flowers", "The Biography of Elon Musk" and "The End of the Twilight" as planned, and the "Two Parts of Courage" have also been briskly launched. Three months of shared reading has allowed more book friends to join in, and the form of shared reading is also iterating in small steps. Now, we have added a special guest sharing session to each round of four readings, so that every book lover has a unique gain.
Some people say that reading together is not just reading a book, but also getting together in the air with an interesting soul that you would never be able to meet. Others say that reading together is more important than looking back at your own heart through the mirror in a book. , to be a more authentic self; some people say that reading together is like supporting and helping each other, stimulating oneself through sharing, inspiring oneself through listening, and achieving each other's achievements. There is a saying in "The Courage of Happiness" by
, "Books are the door to the world." On the road of reading, because the souls are similar, we need to read and resonate together. Reading can be a wonderful thing for a person, and you can also experience a particularly long-lasting and rich aroma of books through reading together. (Yang Yucheng)
