On March 28, on the eve of the 17th "World Autism Awareness Day", the 2024 China Hubei first "Children of the Stars" healing concert was held at Wuhan Qintai University Theater held. For autistic children, music is like a good medicine, opening up the hearts of autistic children and helping them communicate with the world. It also has a good therapeutic effect. It is reported that the concert was sponsored by the Child Development and Behavioral Science Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, Wuhan Association for Science and Technology, and Wuhan Tianbless Star Children's Hospital.
At the concert, the situational sign language dance "Light Up the Future" choreographed by the medical staff of Tianbless Star Children's Hospital was completed by six autistic children. They formed a drum band and expressed their love for life with vivid performances; Liu Chuangchuang, an autistic musician from Wuhan, performed piano music for everyone. The melodious sound of the piano touched the audience present. Liu Chuangchuang's mother was also invited to the stage to share her knowledge on the education of autistic children and her experience in family education.
In the academic exchange session, Professor Chen Yixin, Director of the Asia-Pacific Child Mental Health Research and Training Assistance Center of the World Health Organization, Professor amarildo prifti of the German Child Rehabilitation Center, Professor Fang Wenda, academician of the Royal Society of Medicine and President of the Macau Pediatric Society, and China Rehabilitation Research Center (Beijing) Well-known experts Professor Li Yanchun and other experts and scholars took the stage to share the latest results of international research on autism, providing new ideas for improving the quality of life of autistic people.
Especially for music therapy, experts said that music therapy has been widely used at home and abroad to intervene in the social communication skills of autistic children. Through musical intervention, the mirror neuron system of children with autism can be stimulated and activated. Through this academic conference, medical staff can better understand the application of music therapy in autism, so as to better combine music therapy with other intervention methods and integrate it into daily teaching.
Huang Qiwei, co-organizer of this concert and head of Wuhan Tianyou Star Children's Hospital, said that the concert is not only to pay attention to the special needs of children with autism, but also to awaken them with the healing power of music and love. With the potential and joy deep in our hearts, we use practical love relief funds to help families of autistic children reduce their financial burden and let them feel the warmth of the outside world. At the same time, we call on all sectors of society to care for the autistic group and provide "star children" and With greater understanding and support from families, a relatively complete social support system has been gradually built, allowing autistic people to return slowly and enjoy life with dignity. At the
concert, the Hubei Provincial Charity Federation Tianbless Star Special Children’s Rehabilitation and Care Fund Office announced the specific assistance policies and application conditions for the 2024-2025 Spring Seedling Program. This year, it will continue to recruit 100 autistic children with family difficulties and special circumstances. Families are provided with assistance with early screening, treatment, and rehabilitation expenses.
