On March 28, the press conference of the 14th Beijing International Film Festival was held. This year’s Beijing International Film Festival is directed by the State Film Administration and hosted by China Central Radio and Television and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government.
The 14th Beijing International Film Festival takes "Mutual Learning from Light and Shadow, Mutual Benefit from Like-minded People" as its theme, and will focus on its four major focuses: internationality, professionalism, peopleliness, and communication power. Within 9 days, the "Tiantan Award" awards, opening and closing ceremonies and red carpet ceremony, Beijing screening, "Beijing Planning·Theme Forum", Beijing Market, Film Carnival, College Student Film Festival, Closing Ceremony and Award Ceremony, will be organized. There are more than 100 various activities in various forms and categories such as "Movie+", creating a festive carnival with the participation of many film practitioners, citizens and movie fans. press conference. The poster combines the shapes of the Temple of Heaven and the pine and cypress bonsai into one, and incorporates the style of traditional Chinese ink painting. The Beijing International Film Festival "unifies man and nature, and shares beauty" The value concept runs through the flowing lines and is hidden in the light and dark shades of ink. At the
press conference, the judges and shortlisted films for the Beijing International Film Festival’s “Tiantan Award” were also announced. There are 7 international judges in total. The chairman of the jury is the famous Serbian director Emil Kusturica. The 6 judges are: Australian film sound designer David White, actor Fei Xiang, Austrian director Jessica Howe Sina, Brazilian director Carlos Saldanha, actor Mary , actor Zhu Yilong . In terms of participating films, the total number of film registrations for this year’s Beijing International Film Festival reached 4,273. Among them, the main competition unit “Tiantan Award” received a total of 1,509 feature film registrations from 118 countries and regions, and the number reached a new high. Among the 15 finalists, there are 12 foreign films and 3 domestic films, including: the French film "Substitute Teacher", the Austrian/German film "One Life to Live", the Japanese film "Everything at Dawn", Swiss/France/Egypt/ The Qatari film "Back to Alexandria", the Finnish/Italian film "The Man Who Faced Death", the Chinese film "Stop and Go", the Serbian/Slovenian/Montenegro/North Macedonia/French film "Top Secret Recipe", the Dutch film "Lacto" , Chinese film " Journey Through the Moon ", German/Slovenian/French film " silent ", Indian film "Lost Baby", Chinese film "Morning Clouds and Mud Rain", Argentinian film "Ant Girl", Israeli film "Urban Abyss", Turkish/Bulgarian film "Reeds".
The "Tiantan Award" international jury will select the best film, best director, best artistic contribution, best screenwriter, best cinematography, best actor, best actress, and best film from these 15 shortlisted films.
