Live Broadcast, March 13th Today, Smiling Assassin Isaiah Thomas was a guest on the Dream Chaser podcast. On the show, he talked about his feelings about not being selected for the Dream Team.
Dream Chasing asked: "Everyone thinks you should be selected as Dream One. Have you ever thought that it might be because Jordan has the power to choose to kick certain people off the list, so you were not selected?"
Smiling Assassin replied : "My first reaction was why didn't I get in? They wrote the (Dream Team) list on the wall, and my name was on it but I didn't get selected in the end. I've never been selected for a team. I was a little hurt on the (lineup) list, but I never thought that it was because of Jordan that I was not selected."
"I went to the selection committee and found out that they selected Stockton. My best friend of all time. Bird was injured, Magic wasn't even in the league, Stockton was injured, and I thought to myself, there's got to be a chance. It never occurred to me that I wasn't on the roster. It's because Jordan didn't want me to join the list."
"Moreover, I didn't think that one person would have so much power at the time. Because Jordan had just won a championship at the time. I had 2 championships at the time, and Magic had 5 championships. Germany had 3, and we won the most championships in that era. A week later, news came out that Jordan didn't like Isaiah... But later in an interview, Jordan said that this was false. He and I had no conflict. So, why didn’t I believe what he said? As a result, "The Last Dance" showed me that this guy had been lying (laughing)."
