The research on the international communication of Chinese films is a data research project on the international communication of Chinese films with foreign audiences as the research object. This project is hosted and implemented by the Institute of International Communication of Chinese Culture at Beijing Normal University. Since the project was launched in 2011, it has been carried out for 12 consecutive sessions, resulting in 12 research reports and 11 books ("Silver Book: Annual Report on the International Communication of Chinese Films"). In 2023, the team will build on the basis of previous years of research. On the occasion, the 13th China Film International Communication Survey was launched.
The 2023 "International Communication of Chinese Films" survey takes the overall performance of Chinese film overseas communication platforms from 2020 to 2022 as a sample, and comprehensively evaluates it from aspects such as media attention, social platform performance, secondary communication effects, and professional platform evaluations. The report proposes plans and paths for accelerating the construction of a powerful film culture country during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, including re-establishing the evaluation system for overseas communication of Chinese films: rebuilding the evaluation system for film communication, seizing the initiative in secondary communication; giving full play to Chinese culture Subjectivity, acknowledging differences and "drawing concentric circles"; doing a good job in cultural inheritance and sharing the mission of promoting ideological and cultural propaganda.
