"I hope more works will be broadcast in Taiwan in the future." Actor Jin Dong, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, expressed his expectations for cross-strait cultural exchanges in an interview with reporters during the National People's Congress.
Jin Dong said that he went to Taiwan to participate in activities in 2005 and 2006. At that time, it was still the "film era." He said that he likes Taiwan very much and hopes to visit more often in the future. "I hope Taiwanese audience friends will have time to come to the mainland more often."
Mainland film and television works such as "The Legend of Zhen Huan" continue to be popular in Taiwan. When asked about related issues by Taiwanese media reporters, Feng Yuanzheng, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and president of the Beijing People's Art Theater, also expressed a positive attitude towards cross-strait cultural exchanges.
"When we (previously) performed dramas in Taiwan, we were very popular." Feng Yuanzheng recalled that when "Teahouse" and "The First Floor in the World" were performed in Taiwan, "people of the older generation would be moved to tears." He hopes young people can learn about "our roots" through the drama.
"We have no difficulties now and are ready at any time." Feng Yuanzheng told Taiwan media reporters, "We just want to see if any organization in Taiwan invites us. If you pass it on, we will definitely go and perform."
