The Lantern Festival has a long charm. On the evening of February 24, the China Central Radio and Television Station's Lantern Festival Opera Gala "Shuiyun Jiangsu·Mei Xiangtaizhou" presented a lively and festive special program with noisy gongs and drums to the national audience on the CCTV Opera Channel. At the party, Wang Fang and Zhao Wenlin, national first-class actors and famous Kun Opera and Soviet opera performing artists, performed a segment of the Soviet opera "The Oiran's Return Drunk". Su Opera is a unique local opera in Suzhou with a history of more than 300 years. It is one of the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage. Together with Kun Opera and Suzhou Pingtan, it is known as the "Three Flowers" of the Suzhou art circle and is regarded as a showcase It is a representative opera with profound humanistic tradition in Suzhou. As a local opera in Suzhou, Su Opera not only has the characteristics of elegance, grace and delicacy of Jiangnan opera, but is also very close to the people and full of fireworks.
The Su Opera "The Oiran" is based on "The Oil Seller's Monopoly of the Oiran" in Feng Menglong's "Awakening Words". There are also related repertoires in Kun Opera and many local operas. "Returning Drunk" is one of the most famous excerpts of Su Opera. It tells the story of the oiran Xin Yaoqin who returns drunk and falls in love with the oil seller Qin Zhong at first sight. In 1992, Wang Fang won the first place at the National No. 1 Troupe's Outstanding Play Performance with "The Oiran Returns Drunk"; when competing for the Plum Blossom Award in 1995, this play was also included in Wang Fang's excerpts. That night, Wang Fang collaborated with her old partner Zhao Wenlin to perform a touching performance of pure love on the big stage of the CCTV Lantern Festival Gala.
In addition, Yin Liren, an outstanding young actor from the Suzhou Kunqu Opera Theater in Jiangsu Province, and You Jiaqi and Zhang Yijin from the Yangzhou Opera Research Institute jointly performed the Kunqu Opera "Lin Chong Runs at Night" at the party. They sang and performed well, presenting the audience with an audio-visual feast full of youthful atmosphere.
The Lantern Festival Opera Gala consists of three chapters, with "plum blossom" as the image, and various art forms such as opera, pingtan, and opera songs are performed in turn, interpreting the three meanings of "drama in the New Year", "Plum School art" and "traditional opera inheritance". The program brought together nearly 20 opera genres, more than a hundred opera artists and outstanding actors from across the country, including Beijing, Kunming, Henan, Yue and Huang, and gathered more than 400 participants in Taizhou, the hometown of Peking Opera master Mei Lanfang, for a performance A colorful pear garden feast.
