In the concert hall of the National Center for the Performing Arts, antique lanterns surround the surroundings, scattered high and low, and the warm and hazy light and shadow create a strong New Year atmosphere. On the eve of the Spring Festival, on the evening of February 6, Lu Jia conducted the National Center for the Performing Arts Orchestra and played the annual "New Year Waltz" concert, accompanying the audience to celebrate the New Year with light and beautiful melodies.
The atmosphere of the performance was obviously warmer and more lively than usual. The female performer's long skirt was flowing, and the orchestra's usually solemn and formal black dress was dyed with bright colors. The brilliant horn sounded immediately after the sound of drums, and Johann Strauss Jr.'s "March to the City" kicked off the concert. 2024 is the 220th anniversary of the birth of Johann Strauss Sr. and the 125th anniversary of the death of Johann Strauss the Younger. "New Year's Waltz" selects 6 classic works passed down from generation to generation by the Strauss family, "The Vienna Woods" "Story Waltz" and "Emperor's Waltz" are elegant and circling, while "Anna Polka", "Sparrow Gallop" and "Helen's Four Couples" are cheerful and lovely.
At the same time, the most popular melodies of great composers such as Suppé, Bizet, Chopin, and Tchaikovsky were played one after another, from the overture of "The Poet and the Peasant" to the "Waltz of Flowers", works of different styles were like flowers. The wonderful pen paints a vivid picture of world folk customs. "Youth Waltz" by the famous Chinese composer Du Mingxin is particularly unique. The music genre from the West carries the implicit joy of the Oriental people and sings the eager expectation for a better future.
12 tracks were completed in one go, and the audience applauded endlessly. After giving thanks several times, Lu Jia and the orchestra returned three times to perform the joyous "Radesky March", "Backgammon" and "Spring Festival Overture". Among them, the "Spring Festival Overture" was accompanied by children dancing on the stage and dancing dragons. It turns out that they are all the children of orchestra performers. They look naive but are quite serious. The good intentions of family reunion are touching. The warm cheers are louder and louder every time. In the night embraced by music, the pace of the Spring Festival is getting closer and closer. .
On February 7th, the "New Year Waltz" concert will continue. During the Spring Festival, live recordings of performances will be available online to meet more audiences.
