Regarding the competition format and time of the first e-sports Olympics, Bach admitted that it has not been completely determined yet. "We are not 100% confirmed (the competition format and time), but the research is making significant progress. Therefore, I think we can consider hosting the first Olympic Esports Games in 2025 or 2026 at the latest."
He said, The Olympic Games may follow the format of last year’s Olympic Esports Week. In 2021, the International Olympic Committee held the Olympic Virtual Series, which was the International Olympic Committee's first pilot project in the field of e-sports. Based on the successful experience of the Olympic Virtual Series, the International Olympic Committee held the first Olympic Esports Week in 2023, which was also very popular.
