Since then, the output of films jointly produced by the Hong Kong film industry and mainland film companies has increased significantly, directly promoting exchanges between the film industries of the two places. This event aims to further promote exchanges and cooperation between the film industries of the two places and jointly promote Chinese-language films to shine more dazzlingly in the international film world. The event screened three co-production films, "The Storm", "Operation Red Sea" and "Warrior", and invited senior filmmakers to share their experience in the industry and trace the development of commercial films under the co-production system.
Cheng Wai-yuan, director of the Hong Kong Office in Beijing, said that the CEPA agreement relaxes the restrictions on co-productions between Hong Kong and the mainland, further encourages Hong Kong and the mainland to develop co-production models, and gives mainland audiences more opportunities to enjoy films involving Hong Kong directors and Hong Kong actors. Through the cepa agreement, the film industries of Hong Kong and the Mainland can complement each other's strengths and work together to build a Chinese film brand and help promote Chinese culture. Hong Kong will continue to leverage its strengths and contribute to the promotion of Chinese-language films and Chinese culture.
