Shaanxi Libo Qinhan Museum is currently the only museum in China that focuses on displaying the origin, development and contribution of Qin and Han civilization. It is located in Qinhan New Town, Xixian New District, adjacent to the Qinxianyang City National Archaeological Site Park and the Imperial Mausoleum Site of the Western Han Dynasty. It is a modern museum with a strong traditional style that integrates cultural relic protection, display and exhibition, academic research, popular science education, tourism services and other functions. Currently, the museum is accelerating the overall exhibition layout work and will be officially opened on May 18, 2024.
However, the Shaanxi Libo Qinhan Pavilion, which has only been open for trial for two weeks, has also encountered some doubts.
On January 6, 2024, a Shaanxi self-media account posted an article saying that during its visit to the exhibition of the Qin and Han Pavilion of Shaanxi Libo, it discovered some common sense errors and missing information. For example, the article mentioned that some display boards wrote "Jingyang" in Shaanxi Province as "Jingyang", "Qin State" as "Thailand", and "Pan Chi Pattern" as "Pan Chi Pattern". Many cultural relics display boards did not indicate the unearthed information. English translations, etc., may even be incorrectly labeled.
In response to this, the Qin and Han Museum of Shaanxi Libo officially released "Please come and point out mistakes!" on January 7. "An article responded, "The basic display of the Qin and Han Pavilion of the Shaanxi History Museum, 'The World is Unified - Qin and Han Civilization Theme Exhibition,' has received widespread attention from all walks of life since its opening. Many enthusiastic viewers pointed out the exhibition through different methods and channels during the visit. errors or problems in the process, and put forward many valuable opinions and suggestions. Here, we express our most sincere gratitude. We fully accept criticisms for the errors or problems pointed out by everyone."
Shaanxi Libo Qinhan Museum Said, "Currently, all errors or problems found in the exhibition (including those pointed out by everyone and self-examination) have been corrected. At the same time, the curatorial team is continuing to conduct detailed verification of all information about the exhibition (including the details of the exhibits). naming, era, attributes, etc.), and will be revised after closing every day."
The museum also mentioned, "In order to further improve the exhibition level and service quality, we hope that all visitors will come to visit the exhibition often and help correct the problems that exist in the exhibition. Errors or problems, to improve the museum’s open services, you can send the problems or suggestions you find to the official WeChat public account of Shaanxi History Museum or send them to a dedicated mailbox. The museum will take every opinion or suggestion seriously and verify and handle it in a timely manner. If any errors or problems are confirmed, or if the opinions and suggestions are adopted, our sincere gratitude will be expressed in an appropriate manner (such as presenting the museum's special cultural and creative products or being specially invited to participate in related activities, etc.)."
For Shaanxi Libo Qinhan Museum In response to the above, the article "Museum Invitation to "Correction" Is a "Win-Win"" published by "China Art News" "liked" it. The
article stated, "Compared with the past when the audience took the initiative to point out errors and the museum passively corrected them, this time the Shaanxi History Museum publicly issued a 'correction' invitation to the audience, which was obviously more proactive and sincere. At the same time, the Shaanxi History Museum promised , any errors or problems that are confirmed, or opinions and suggestions that are adopted, will be expressed in an appropriate manner. This will also help to stimulate the audience's enthusiasm for 'error correction' and completely 'find out' all the errors in the exhibition. Eliminate'. For the audience, participating in the process of 'error correction' is actually a learning process, because only by knowing what an error is can we point out the error."
article believes, "In a sense, the museum openly invites The audience's "error correction" is actually a kind of benign two-way interaction, a "win-win" between the museum and the public. This "finding fault game" will also make the museum better and better."
Huanghe News Network's commentary article "Respect history, revere cultural relics, and make museums a "university school" that inherits Chinese civilization" pointed out, "It is not the first case of errors found in museum exhibitions in the Qin and Han Dynasties of the Shaanxi History Museum, but it has been criticized by a large number of people just after it was launched. If you make a mistake, it is indeed necessary to reflect on it. "
article emphasized, "A museum is a big school. The various cultural relics displayed in the museum not only bring a good visual experience to the general audience, but the civilization of the times carried by these cultural relics will also break the limitations of time and space and be presented to the audience. It can be said that the historical and cultural value of museums is the premise and foundation for popular science education and cultural dissemination. As an important cultural landscape in the city, the museum has also become a cultural window that displays the local historical and cultural development context and civilizational achievements. Due to the relatively large number of visitors to the museum, common sense errors in museum exhibitions will also cause some negative effects. On the one hand, these common-sense errors will affect tourists' viewing experience and damage the cultural image of the museum. On the other hand, they will mislead the audience and are not conducive to the inheritance of culture. "
