The TV series "One Thought Guanshan" starring Liu Shishi and Liu Yuning recently ended on iQiyi. The drama mainly tells the story of Ren Ruyi (played by Liu Shishi), the former left envoy of Zhu Yiwei of Anguo, who by chance became a member of the Wuguo Emperor's envoy team, and The story of Ning Yuanzhou (played by Liu Yuning), the master of Wuguo Six Paths Hall, and others experienced life and death and grew up together. A few days ago, Liu Shishi accepted an exclusive interview with a reporter from the Beijing News. In her opinion, "One Thought of Guanshan" is a group portrait work. Everyone has a distinct personality and wonderful experiences. In addition, what attracts her is the character "Ruyi", "I When I read the script, I really wanted to express her."
Liu Shishi played the role of Ren Ruyi, the former left envoy of Anguo Zhu Yiwei in "One Thought of Guanshan".
When reading the script, I don’t deliberately think about whether it is a challenge.
Beijing News: The role of Ren Ruyi is very different from your previous costume characters. In your opinion, what is the most special thing about her, or what attracts you the most?
Liu Shishi: Her experience and her values are very attractive to me. Her growth is not only in mentality, but her vision and mind are also constantly opening up new cognitions. When she was a child, she had only one belief in her life, that of the Queen. Later, in order to avenge the Queen, she changed her identity and lived. According to her words, she was just a ghost at that time. But later, she began to think about what she could do for the suffering people, and wanted to use her own hands to create a broader world. I really like her character.
Beijing News: For you, are there any challenges in performing as you wish?
Liu Shishi: Because when I read the script, I don’t consciously think about whether it is a challenge. Of course, every drama must have its challenges. For example, in this drama, I may have a lot of fighting scenes, but to me, this is a normal thing, because the setting of the character is like this, but I try my best to To do what I can do, I wouldn’t necessarily sum it up as a challenge, everything is to serve the character and the work.
Beijing News: Ruyi has a very fierce and murderous side, and she also has a "I feel pity" attitude. How can these two completely different states be transformed and unified during the interpretation process?
Liu Shishi: (laughing) "I feel pity for you" was her disguised state at that time, that is, she was in this state on the face, but in fact she still felt that she was performing a task and vigilant in her heart.
"I feel pity for you" is Ruyi's disguise.
Beijing News: Ruyi is a character with a very obvious "growth" line. The growth changes throughout the series are also great, from an innocent little girl to a ruthless killer, to the charming Hu Ji. How do you see her growing up? Did you get any resonance or insights from it?
Liu Shishi: Her growth is actually more of a mental and emotional experience. She was trained as a killer before, without much emotional teaching and experience. Her only reliance and belief is Queen Zhaojie, but she and Xiao The team members have come along the way, and the fact that she believes in her companions can be said to be a change from having this emotional factor to having an emotional structure, which is a very happy thing.
Beijing News: Ruyi has many personality traits. What are the similarities with you?
Liu Shishi: I didn’t particularly think about the similarities. I just put myself into the role to feel her emotions and get as close to her as possible.
Beijing News: Everyone knows that you are a "slow-to-warm" person. When you join the crew, you need to quickly integrate into the "aura" with other actors. Do you have any personal experiences? For example, let's eat hot pot together?
Liu Shishi: means eating hot pot (laughing). Our drama has just started filming, but in the script we are trusting partners, so I hope we can get familiar with each other faster outside the drama. We will eat hot pot together and talk about the script and characters. , and became familiar with it in the process.
Beijing News: Everyone sees that your screen image is mostly cool and gentle, but in some interviews you can also see that you are very straightforward and have the bold personality of a "Beijing girl". Are you looking forward to a role that can unleash more of your "sassy" side?
Liu Shishi : It depends on the script and the needs of the character.
Liu Shishi has many dancing scenes in the play.
Never thought about the "comfort zone"
Beijing News: In the past few years, you have appeared in modern dramas such as "Dear Myself" and "Golden Years". This time, "One Thought Guanshan" has "returned" to a costume drama. In your opinion, what are the different experiences of interpreting modern and ancient costumes? Do you think costume dramas are your "comfort zone"?
Liu Shishi: modern clothing is closer to life, after all, we live in modern times, and ancient clothing has more imagination. In fact, I have never thought about the "comfort zone". I think more about the script and the character. Including when I read the script, I didn’t distinguish between ancient costumes and modern costumes. I just felt that the script attracted me, and I took it with the idea of expressing this character.
Beijing News: From a creative perspective, which character is more similar to you or a character with a sense of distance that inspires your creative desire?
Liu Shishi: Regardless of similarity or distance, I think the most important thing is to resonate with the character, or want to resonate with the character. For me, having this desire can better express the character.
Ruyi has a great character change in the play.
Beijing News: In recent years, I can feel that you are constantly trying different types and characters. Do you think there are any types of characters that are difficult for you to control?
Liu Shishi: For every type of role, actors are not 100% sure that they can fully control it. Because no matter what the role is, there are always difficulties in expressing it.
When encountering pressure, it is more about how to solve it
Beijing News: You also said that your personality is not suitable for variety shows, and you are not a "highly exposed" actor. What are your "ambitions" as an actor?
Liu Shishi: hopes to present the character to the audience as completely as possible, so that the audience can remember her and resonate with her experiences and stories. Everyone likes it and everyone loves to watch it. This is the best compliment.
Beijing News: Everyone sees that you are very "self-consistent", very natural and comfortable. Do you also feel a sense of crisis? If you have a sense of crisis, are you the type of person who can turn it into motivation?
Liu Shishi: It’s hard to say (laughs), it depends on the specific situation. But if there is a sense of crisis, it will be converted into a kind of motivation.
Beijing News: Every time you appear at some events, everyone will be surprised at how well you maintain your figure and condition, especially since you also like to eat snacks. Do you have any tips for keeping healthy and staying in shape that you can share?
Liu Shishi: I think it is better to form a consciousness and a habit. Habits are more important. After forming a habit, you will subconsciously remind yourself every day.
Beijing News: If you have pressure or negative emotions, how do you usually resolve them?
Liu Shishi: I generally don’t think about this (laughs). When something happens, I think more about how to solve it. This is more important at the moment.
