Global Times: How do you understand the role of Fang Xing and why do you think of gaining weight?

Eddie Peng: My first feeling after reading the script was that it was very complete and very different. Most of the police officers I played in the past were fighting on the front lines and often directly confronting criminals. However, this character is in the Internet Narcotics Investigation Department and rarely faces criminals directly. Moreover, he becomes the superintendent as soon as he appears. I want to be similar to the police characters I played before. There is a difference.

Although the team led by Fang Xing are doing network investigations in the office, I think the police should have a sense of power. I hope that when I pick up the gun, I can create the feeling that it is part of my body, so I cannot be too thin. I need to give everyone a sense of security and make everyone believe that the Hong Kong police are very powerful in fighting crime. On the other hand, I also want to show my mature side when acting opposite my seniors. The police are quite busy when handling cases. I originally designed the image of a police officer with stubble and a bit of vicissitudes of life, but in the end, everyone decided to retain the sunny feeling.

Global Times: What do you think of the evaluation of "the most desperate person in the entertainment industry"?

Eddie Peng: I like acting very much, but I am always afraid that I am not prepared enough, so I spend more time preparing, exercising, and studying. I learned to shoot guns for a long time when filming "Operation Mekong" and I am already very familiar with them, but I will still spend time rehearsing when filming this movie. What’s very interesting is that although learning these things may feel unfamiliar, you will never forget them. When filming other scenes, you can further strengthen and consolidate them, or play something different. I tend to be more "hard" when filming, but not in life.

Global Times: Since your debut, which stage has the most special meaning to you?

Eddie Peng: The most meaningful stage of is now, and it will always be now. The past no longer exists, and the present stage is the most meaningful. We make different choices every day, and we often forget what we want because of the external environment or other people's opinions. I have made many choices in the past, which may be right or wrong. Those choices have made me who I am now, but one cannot always look back, just like riding a bicycle. You must look ahead to move forward and avoid injury. I choose to enjoy every moment and want to live more freely and authentically.

Global Times: When choosing the role, did you intend to break everyone's inherent impression of the name "Eddie Peng"?

Eddie Peng: If we want to know a person, the simplest way is to give him a description or label, but I think everyone is unique. "Eddie Peng" is a name my mother gave me, and it does not necessarily represent me. I have been searching for who I am and what I want to do in this world. Unknowingly, I have been acting for 20 years. I often ask myself, what is the meaning of filming, and what can I bring to this society and to movie fans. I can't change everyone's opinion, but if everyone sees that I am a very hard-working actor and can get strength from me, allowing him to finally overcome the difficulties in life, I think it will be good.
