Luo Zhongyun is currently the director of the Guangdong Provincial Violin Society, the vice president of the Guangzhou Wind Music Society, the permanent conductor of the Guangzhou Lingnan Symphony Orchestra, the music director of the Guangzhou University Orchestra, and the artistic director and principal of the Guangzhou Youth Culture Palace Orchestra. command. From engineering to music and art
Luo Zhongyun is an authentic Guangzhou boy. Influenced by his grandmother who was a music teacher, he has loved music since childhood and is proficient in many musical instruments..

Talking about the experience of learning conducting, Luo Zhongyun admitted that it was not easy. Although he majored in mechanical automation during his undergraduate studies, he still devoted a lot of time to the study of music, participated in wind band training, and followed teachers to learn music theory knowledge, composition, orchestration, bel canto, and various musical instruments.
During his time in the wind band, he was lucky enough to meet his mentor—Teacher Hu De, who was then the music director and permanent conductor of the Guangzhou University Orchestra. "He answered every question I asked seriously and in detail. I learned a lot about conducting knowledge step by step from him." Luo Zhongyun studied with Mr. Hu De and Mr. Zhang Guoming, a famous wind music educator in Hong Kong, China Conductor and composer. After graduation, he began to engage in orchestral conducting and composition work.
Luo Zhongyun recalled, "At that time, the teacher told me that making music is very hard, so don't choose music. But I didn't give up. I said to the teacher, whatever instrument you lack, I will play it." Maybe it was. Seeing that Luo Zhongyun had really worked hard in this area and was willing to learn, the teacher began to ask the band to help him rehearse, and later began to let Luo Zhongyun conduct his own works. His ability to cross over from engineering to music and art and finally achieve success is inseparable from Luo Zhongyun's diligence and studiousness, as well as his persistence and love for music.
Keeping integrity and innovating
Sparing no effort to inherit Lingnan music
Out of his love for Guangfu music, Luo Zhongyun began composing in 2009. He composed the "Xiguan Love Suite" for the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra brass quintet. 》Won the 7th China Music Golden Bell Award for Best Work. Later, he successively composed a number of popular Guangdong music works, which were welcomed by the majority of youth orchestras.
In 2017, his work "The Sound of the Fishing Pond" premiered at the Concert Hall of the Royal Danish Music School, depicting the life and natural features of Lingnan to the world.
In 2020, he led the Guangzhou University Orchestra to participate in the 6th Guangdong Province College Student Art Exhibition. The band performed Luo Zhongyun’s original works "Happy in the Flower City" and "Tao Tong Playing in the Water" and won the first prize.
Honors and awards, love and feelings have strengthened Luo Zhongyun’s confidence and determination as a musician and educator to promote excellent Cantonese culture.
