Manchester United confirmed on Christmas Eve that the Glazer family had reached an agreement with Ineos Group. Ineos Group will purchase 25% of the shares of Manchester United Club for 1.25 billion pounds and fully take over the football business. The Times reported that as part of the deal, Ratcliffe and the Glazer family agreed not to criticize each other in public.

The document confirmed that the two parties will not make any "results to the seller (i.e. the Glazer family), the company (i.e. Manchester United)" ) or their respective affiliates constitutes a personal attack, criticism or other defamation." The
document also confirms that Ineos' Sir Dave Brailsford and Jean-Claude Blanc will join the Manchester United board. Although part of the takeover has yet to be approved by the Premier League, it is reported that United will have to consult Ineos on any transfer operations in the January transfer window.
