IGN Best game of 2023: "Ser" DaLegend: Tears of the Kingdom"
is rated as follows:
Broadly speaking, there is not much difference between "Tears of the Kingdom" and "Baldur's Gate 3". Both games offer players so much freedom that we felt like we could impose our will on others in both games. But, early on in Kingdom Tears, there's a moment that serves as a switch for the imagination: acquiring the "Ultimate Hand" is key to Kingdom Tears' entire gameplay concept. Suddenly, the answer to the puzzle wasn't just about figuring out the right color combination or finding the right switch. The answers to all of Kingdom Tears' puzzles lie in the forests, caves, skies, and abyss surrounding Hyrule. It would be an injustice to say that "Tears of the Kingdom" is just a copy of "Breath of the Wild", because it makes "Breath of the Wild" look more like a luxurious trial of "Tear of the Wild". When Miyamoto was creating the Zelda series, he said that he was inspired by his childhood explorations in the forests and caves of Japan. Thirty-seven years later, that dream of exploration appears to be fully realized. In fact, the opening of "Tears of the Kingdom" is the best explanation of this original mission. Once he acquires the four main "Zona'u" abilities, Link jumps off the ledge and directly onto Hyrule, like a bird being pushed off the ledge to fly. From then on, the game was truly in our hands, we could play it however we wanted and go wherever we wanted. The adventure begins with us and ends with us.Here's why The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is IGN's best game of 2023.
