Japanese photographer RK’s observations of the city are always delicate. The waterfall-like flow of locomotives on the Taipei Bridge, pedestrians crossing the road with umbrellas, and the grandfather who runs a small shop in the Electric Street. These are the most ordinary daily scenery. , through the interpretation of RK's perspective and aesthetic feeling, it adds a sense of fantasy and tranquility. After three years, RK's latest solo exhibition "From Dusk to Dawn" was held at "Whimsy Works", taking viewers to see the streets of Tokyo under the COVID-19 epidemic and feel the city's tenacious vitality in adversity.
RK has dense and heavy photography features.
For RK, photography does not need to be limited by tools. Whether you are holding iphone or a professional monocular, as long as you have an "original" perspective, you can shoot good works. RK himself also started as an iPhone photographer. "Grandpa in Akihabara" was a turning point for him to pick up a monocular camera. From this work, you can also get a glimpse of his photography characteristics, like the protagonist with a "dense sense" , and the composition skills that can always capture the majestic sense of everyday scenery. What
RK wants to convey through the exhibition
The world has experienced various emotions such as anxiety, restlessness, and irritability due to the epidemic. Quiet Dawn also hopes that people will find comfort and feel blessings in RK's works.
