At that time, at the age of 26, she was a dispatcher of the Linyi ship of a destroyer detachment of the Navy in the Northern Theater Command.
On the evening of March 26, 2015, the 19th naval escort taskforce carried out a mission in the Gulf of Aden, accompanied by the Linyi ship, while the Weifang ship and Weishanhu ship were on standby in the eastern waters of the Gulf of Aden.
Suddenly, the Linyi ship received an order: "Suspend the escort mission, immediately maneuver to the sea off Yemen at high speed, and follow the order to carry out the evacuation mission." The military situation is urgent! Gao Ke, the then captain of the Linyi ship, immediately ordered to turn the course and head towards the port of Aden at full speed.
On March 29, the Linyi ship sailed into Yemen's territorial waters. "There were gunshots and explosions everywhere."
