On the morning of October 9th, the world's longest spiral tunnel - the Hankou Extra-long Tunnel of Xinjin Expressway held a full-line penetration ceremony.
After the left line of the Hankou Tunnel was completed on September 29, the right line of the tunnel was successfully completed at 5:18 a.m. on October 8. It took 858 days for the Hankou Tunnel to pass through two lines, laying a solid foundation for the official opening of Xinjin Expressway at the end of the year.
It is understood that the left line of the Hankou Tunnel is 4457 meters long and the right line is 4366 meters long. The completion of the entire line of the tunnel marks the official completion of the 28-kilometer Xinjin Expressway three-story spiral tunnel group. This is the first three-story spiral tunnel group of expressways in China, and it is also the longest spiral tunnel under construction in the world. It is 229 meters longer than the Jinjiazhuang extra-long spiral tunnel of the Yanchong Expressway, the current holder of the Guinness World Record.
The Hankou Tunnel is designed with a circular curve with a small radius, which solves the problem of climbing mountain routes by means of a spiral extension. The height difference between the entrance and exit of the tunnel is 109 meters.
The completion of the spiral tunnel group provides a guarantee for the opening of Xinjin Expressway at the end of this year, when the journey from Henan Xinxiang to Shanxi Jincheng will be shortened by one hour. In addition, Xinjin Expressway connects Changji, Hehui, Hebao and Yantaihang Expressway. After the completion and opening to traffic this year, Xinxiang Hui County will achieve a historical breakthrough from 0 expressway to 6 expressways and 8 exits, and Xinxiang will also advance ahead of schedule. Realize the goal of "city double ring line, county double expressway", walking in the forefront of the province and even the whole country.
