The resumption of work and production of major local engineering projects is progressing steadily.

The Luding to Shimian Expressway is an important part of the expressway network planning in Sichuan Province, with a total length of 97 kilometers. It connects the two major traffic arteries of West Sichuan, Yaxi and Yakang Expressways, and is located in the hardest hit area of the Luding earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8. After the earthquake, many mountains near the epicenter collapsed, affecting some construction sites. The reporter from
learned from Sichuan Provincial Department of Transportation that as of September 12, except for one tender section near the epicenter of Lushi Expressway, all other tender sections of the project have resumed work. After the Lu-Shi Expressway is completed and opened to traffic, the journey from Luding to Shimian will be shortened from 2.5 hours to 1 hour, which will promote the social and economic development of the areas along the line.
