In 1956, when the first opera performance in Henan Province, "Crying Palace" was performed by famous Yue tune artists Zhang Xiuqing, Shen Fengmei, Li Yuhua, and Li Yuhua (the original name of the play was like this, and the word "three" was added later to become "Three Crying Palace". The above-mentioned four famous artists played the roles of King Tang, Empress Longsun, Concubine Zhan, Princess Yinping), which caused a huge sensation and won many awards. It is pointed out here that some people on the Internet have misunderstood the time, which is an error and needs to be corrected. More than one person said that it was during the performance of famous and veteran artists in Henan Province in 1962 that Yuetiao performed "Cry Palace", which was later transplanted into Henan Opera. At this time, Zhang Xiuqing, who played Tang Wang, has passed away. How can he play this role again? In fact, the performance time of Yuetiao "Three Crying Palace" is earlier than this. The famous drama critic Jing Hua once said: "The first time I saw Yuetiao was the "Three Crying Palace" performed by the Zhengzhou Yuetiao Opera Troupe in the winter of 1952. Zhang Xiuqing played Tang Taizong Li Shimin and Zhang Guilan played the Yinping princess. These two actors have loud voices, are very good at singing, and they speak clearly and have a strong charm. They acted this play in a reasonable manner and extremely touching."
The compilation of the famous Yuetiao screenwriter Min Bin in 1957, changed to the dispute between loyalty and traitor. Contradictions within the palace changed state affairs into royal family affairs; changed Qin Ying's anger to Taishi to accidentally wounded lives; strengthened the level of defense and crying in "Crying Palace"; the tight borders made Qin Ying's conquest with crime as the end of the play, highlighting The virtue that everyone puts the big picture first. Later, Henan Theater of Henan Province transplanted this play, and in 1962, the Second Provincial Troupe was modified to rehearse "Three Crying Palace" (Tang Xicheng played Tang Wang, Wu Bibo played Zhan Fei, Zhang Guihua played princess, Yang Suzhen played the grandson queen, Xie Qiaoguan Acting as Qin Ying), whose performance video is the earliest and best of the Henan Opera "Three Crying Palace", becoming the main play of the second group. Since then, many Henan opera troupes across the province competed to rehearse this play, and many local operas also performed this play, which is still loved by the audience.
