Chengdu is an ancient cultural capital with a long history of more than 3,000 years. The former Shu dynasty in the late Tang and Five Dynasties left a wealth of poetry, music and dance art treasures for the city. The twenty-four music figure embossed on the waist of the sarcophagus bed in Chengdu Yongling Museum is the only cultural relic that has been discovered so far that fully reflects the combination of the Tang Dynasty and the former Shu court band.

The stone carvings show the grand scale and magnificent scenes of court bands in the late Tang and Five Dynasties. Some of these musical instruments come from West Asia and Central Asia, full of rich silk road customs, which not only reflects the openness and tolerance of ancient Chinese civilization, but also represents the diversity and prosperity of Qianshu music culture.
