Recently, the Xiangfang Branch of the Harbin Public Security Bureau in Heilongjiang Province uncovered a fraud on the grounds of selling masks, involving 1.5 million yuan.
On February 13, someone called the police at Wanda Apartment on Hengshan Road, Xiangfang District, Harbin, and was deceived. The police found Shao, the policeman. After preliminary understanding, the victim Shao met the suspect He Mou through WeChat. He said that he had a channel to buy disposable medical masks and was able to transport it to Harbin within five days. He reposted a large amount of false information such as the mask manufacturer’s qualifications and mask sample pictures to the victim Shao through WeChat. The victim Shao believed it was true and transferred 1.437 million yuan to the suspect He through WeChat and Alipay for five consecutive days. One week after the arrival date agreed upon by both parties, Shao did not receive the mask, so he immediately called the police.
After preliminary investigation, in order to gain the trust of the victim, the suspect He Mou downloaded and posted the video of making, selling and transporting masks online, and forwarded it through WeChat Moments. He used the stolen money obtained earlier to rent luxury cars and buy luxury goods such as diamonds and famous watches. Further expose "strength" through the circle of friends and release information on the sale of protective equipment to implement fraud.

At the same time, it conducts in-depth research, judgment, and investigation to track and lock suspects. After four days and five nights of continuous combat, on February 18, policemen Shang Yulong and Yang Haitao captured the criminal suspect He who was hiding and preparing to flee in a hotel in Nangang District. He confessed to the facts of the crime, and the stolen money obtained from fraud was used for high-consumption purchases and repayment of personal debts.
Police reminder: Do not blindly buy masks and other protective materials from strangers on the Internet. Once you are cheated, you should call 110 to report to the police in time, or report to the nearest public security agency. (CCTV reporter Wang Yuejun and Zhang Yixin)
