On December 8, the 2nd Hainan Island International Film Festival Sino-Russian Film Cooperation Forum was held in Sanya. The forum invited Xie Fei, a well-known fourth-generation Chinese director, Xu Zheng, a well-known Chinese director, actor, and producer, Liu Ruifang, a well-known Chinese producer, producer, and chairman and CEO of Zhenledao; Liubimova, director of the Film Bureau of the Russian Ministry of Culture. Eureka Baurisovna, Russian film producer, director, and screenwriter Sergey Seyanov, and Russia’s overseas promotion CEO Kupeyev Valery Elibrusovich, etc. The outstanding representatives of the films of the two countries provided advice and suggestions on new ways, new breakthroughs and new expectations for the common development of Chinese and Russian films. Fu Xuanguo, executive vice minister of the Propaganda Department of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee and director of the Provincial Film Bureau, attended the forum.
"Film is an'ambassador in a film box', and it is a bridge and link to promote friendship and in-depth cooperation between the two countries." Fu Xuanguo said in his speech that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. Close and cultural integration, film, as an important bridge of cultural dissemination and exchange, provides the best platform for mutual understanding and communication between the two peoples. He hopes that through this forum, it will create new opportunities for in-depth cooperation between China and Russia and at the same time inject new momentum into the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port.
"Hainan and Russia are geographically different and highly complementary. The combination of the two can derive unlimited cooperation models." Hou Guangming, director of the China Film Industry Development Research Institute and Secretary-General of the National Film Think Tank, suggested building a free trade port in Hainan. To explore the critical period for advancing the international film island, we should further expand opening up, give full play to local complementary advantages, deeply tap the potential for cooperation in emerging fields, and take the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with Russia in the field of film innovation. Take the film as the vanguard to build a new pattern of mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Russia in all-round, in-depth, and multi-fields. On the
forum, Xu Zheng shared his process, experience and feelings when filming the movie "囧Mom" in Russia. Director Xie Fei, Sergey Seyanov and producer Liu Ruifang discussed issues related to Sino-Russian film and cultural exchanges, and the shooting, production, distribution and cooperation of Sino-Russian films.
