The play is a special fund support project for the Guangdong Province’s literary and artistic excellence (literary talents) and a performance project of the 4th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture and Arts Festival in 2024. It focuses on Sun Yat-sen’s legendary life that is closely intertwined with history, interweaving reality and flashbacks. The narrative method and poetic stage style tell the story of how Sun Yat-sen worked hard and forged ahead at the turn of the turbulent 20th century, defying setbacks and fighting repeated defeats. The transformation from a boy in Heng Village, a young man studying abroad, a middle-aged man determined to save the country to a great man of his generation, demonstrates Mr. Sun Yat-sen's indomitable character and his glorious life of devoting himself to the revitalization of China.
Yang Chunrong, a national first-class actor, a leading talent in publicity, ideology and culture of Guangdong Province's "Guangdong Special Support Plan", and a special talent in the field of publicity, ideology and culture of Zhongshan City's "Excellent Talents Plan", serves as the producer of the play. Fu Kiki, a cutting-edge young writer, serves as the screenwriter. Super director Xu Jun serves as the director, and the creative team also includes national first-class stage designer Qin Liyun, American composer Fang Shaoqing, famous lighting designer Xiao Lihe and many other artists.
