The new version of reeder hopes to become a one-stop center for various information sources. reeder is not just for existing rss Mode adds new options and also fundamentally changes the way RSS applications have traditionally worked:

  • No unread count: There is no concept of "read" or "unread" for articles or other content types in the new application. Instead, it's more like a social media app with a unified timeline. Reeder keeps track of where you are in the timeline so users don't miss anything.

  • iCloud sync only: Since Reeder syncs all these different types of content in a single timeline, it relies on a single sync source: iCloud and does not support other third-party RSS sync services.
