Recently, the international solicitation for conceptual plans for the Changsha Grand Stage Project in Wangcheng District, Changsha City has been successfully concluded. Through the qualification review, expert review, and comprehensive evaluation based on the popularity voting results, the final review results were determined. Among them, "Xiaoxiang Water Cloud" designed by China Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Changsha Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd. (consortium) won the first prize, and "Butterflies Dancing in Xiangjiang River" designed by Harbin Institute of Technology Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. "Four Seasons Stage" won the second prize, and "Changsha Ring" designed by Zhejiang University Architectural Design Institute Co., Ltd. and herzog de meuron global ltd (consortium) won the third prize.
This proposal solicitation adheres to the overall positioning of "international style, Huxiang charm, and Changsha flavor", gathers global wisdom, introduces world-class design and aesthetic concepts, and strives to create an ecological, smart, and dynamic new city landmark and new business card for the area.
The "Xiaoxiang Water Cloud" scheme draws inspiration from the artistic conception of the Xiangjiang River with cascading waves and misty clouds. It uses flexible curves like water and clouds to construct the architectural form. The entire building floats on the shore of Daze Lake like flowing clouds and flowing water. "Flowing clouds and flowing water" implies the speed of sports competition, the passion of hundreds of teams competing for success, the meticulous skills, and the hearty movement.
The "Butterflies Dancing on the Xiangjiang River, Four Seasons Stage" plan responds to the regional climate and urban temperament. The integrated design from the roof to the facade creates a light, free, stretched and agile architectural image, just like butterflies dancing on the banks of the Xiangjiang River, showing romance and elegance. Passionate, innovative and iconic.
The "Changsha Ring" scheme is intended to become a city magnet, not only for sports fans and enthusiasts, but also to attract Changsha people and many tourists, becoming a big stage for the public. Its innovative and practical streamlined design and auxiliary facilities areas that break through the traditional stadium design provide visitors with a unique experience and provide a flexible and diverse stage for various cultural activities.
Changsha Grand Stage Project is the first indoor comprehensive pavilion for 10,000 people to be implemented in the province, with a total construction area of nearly 120,000 square meters. It aims to create an urban cultural and sports center that integrates performing arts, culture, sports, leisure, and exhibitions to support urban functions. Improve the quality to meet the public leisure needs of the whole people, inject culture, sports and performing arts economy into the city, and promote the comprehensive development of the consumer service industry.
