The musical is set in Paris in the 15th century and tells the touching story of Quasimodo, the Hunchback of Notre Dame, and the beautiful gypsy girl Esmeralda. The play profoundly reveals the glory and darkness of human nature through the intertwining fates of complex characters.

The play created a new interpretation model of "singing 55 hits to the end without a single line" and created a "world record for the most repertoire in the history of musicals". The song incorporates a large number of pop music elements, cleverly combines bel canto and rock music, and reproduces the magnificent tragic epic of that era that was intertwined with blood and tears. In terms of dance, the play uses a "separated singing and dancing" choreography, using difficult acrobatics and dance skills to shape the plot and portray the characters' hearts.
