In March 1949, he joined the Southward Work Troupe of the Fourth Field Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. In the same year, he joined the Central and South Military Region Art Troupe as a dancer. She has performed dances such as "March Dance", "Warrior Game Dance", "The Postman is Coming", "Tibetan Cavalry", "Miao Compatriots Love the People's Liberation Army", the former Soviet Union's "Soldier Rest Dance", "Guerrillas" and "Two Young Men Wrestling". . While working in the army, he was rated as an outstanding worker and model worker many times.
Comrade Hu Ke transferred to the Chinese Dance Art Research Association in 1958, serving as editor of "Dance" and "Mass Dance", and participated in the compilation of "Modern History of Chinese Dance". After 1977, he successively served as the editorial director, deputy editor, and acting editor of "Dance". He has written nearly 100 articles on dance theory and dance criticism, totaling approximately 500,000 words. Participated in editing a total of 200 issues of dance publications. He once served as the deputy editor-in-chief of the Han folk dance branch of "Chinese Encyclopedia·Music and Dance Volume", the chief editor of the Han folk dance branch of "Chinese Dance Dictionary", and a part-time professor at Beijing Dance Academy. Participated in the preparation of the dance parts of the two books "Chinese Folk Literature and Art" by Beijing Humanities Correspondence University and "Brilliant Achievements" celebrating the 35th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. In recent years, he has served as a judge for Beijing Longtan Lake Temple Fair Folk Dance Competition, Shenyang International Yangko Festival, Beijing "Daxing Sweet Green Cup" Folk Flower Festival Competition, and National Middle-aged and Elderly Fitness Dance Performance.
