According to Shanghai Art Film Studio, Mr. Yan Shanchun, a member of the Communist Party of China, a famous animation artist, and a first-class director, passed away due to illness at 05:01 on July 25, 2024, at the age of 90.
Yan Shanchun, born in 1934, is from Dalian, Liaoning. Graduated from Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 1958, and entered the Shanghai Art Film Studio in the same year, where he served as animation designer, art designer, director, etc., and participated in "Havoc in Heaven", "Mu Flute", "Nezha Naohai", "The Golden Monkey Subdues the Demon", etc. Creative work on several films. Directed alone or co-directed the cartoons "Old Wolf Treats", "Net", "The Adventures of the Sloppy King" (cooperated with Qian Yunda), "Landscape Love" (cooperated with Te Wei and Mark Xuan), "Desert Wind" (cooperated with Yao Guanghua), etc. More than ten volumes.
