An expedition originally intended to capture the majestic summer scenery unexpectedly turned into a heart-wrenching tragedy. A 27-year-old travel influencer, Aanvi Kamdar from Mumbai, accidentally slipped into a 300-foot-deep (approximately 91.4 meters) canyon during a live broadcast, and her life came to an abrupt end.

On the day of the accident, Aanvi and seven friends went to the famous Kumbhe Falls in Maharashtra, western India, where they planned to shoot a wonderful Instagram video. However, fate played a cruel joke at this moment.

According to local officials, the chartered accountant, who has more than 307,000 loyal fans on Instagram, unfortunately slipped while trying to capture the beauty of the waterfall and instantly fell into a deep ravine. The news spread quickly, causing widespread concern and condolences.

"The valley where she fell was filled with hard and slippery rocks, and the incident happened so suddenly that she couldn't even be discovered in time at first." A staff member involved in the rescue revealed the difficult process of the rescue to the Economic Times. In order to rescue her from the deep valley, the rescue team had to use abseil technology. Six rescuers ventured down to the bottom of the valley, and another 50 team members assisted at the top of the mountain. The entire rescue operation took up to six hours. Continuous rainfall, complex terrain and harsh weather conditions have posed huge challenges to rescue operations.

Although aanvi maintained a certain degree of responsiveness in the early stages of the rescue and received ventilator support during the process, unfortunately, she eventually passed away at the Mangaon Taluka Government Hospital on Tuesday afternoon due to excessive injuries.

aanvi’s Instagram account is an important platform for her to share her travel experiences. The unique scenery from India to Turkey, Azerbaijan and other exotic places are all vividly displayed through her lens. Positioning herself as a "sleuth of travel, luxury finds, cafes, itineraries, tips and sensations", she has attracted the attention of a large number of fans through carefully curated content. Especially during the rainy season, she is keen to explore the charm of "monsoon tourism" and records the unique customs and scenery of India during the rainy season.

On her social media page, we can also see aanvi’s last post on Monday, where she enthusiastically recommended five travel destinations that are good to visit during the monsoon season. However, no one expected that just one day later, this young woman who loved traveling would encounter such misfortune.

After the accident, dozens of netizens expressed their condolences to aanvi’s family and friends on social media. At the same time, the police also take this opportunity to remind tourists to be extra careful when visiting similar attractions during the rainy season to prevent similar tragedies from happening again.
