According to the "Film Industry Promotion Law of the People's Republic of China" and "Regulations on the Management of Radio, Film and Television Festivals (Exhibitions) and Program Exchange Activities", the state supports domestic films to participate in overseas film festivals (exhibitions). Only films that have been filmed can participate in film festivals (exhibitions) after obtaining a film release permit. If you plan to participate in an overseas film festival (exhibition), the legal person or other organization submitting the film shall submit relevant materials to the film competent department for filing before the overseas film festival (exhibition) is held.
registration follows the principle of territoriality, and the film is registered with the provincial film authorities where the project was established. Films directly approved by the National Film Administration must be registered with the National Film Administration.
The registration subject should submit the registration materials twenty working days before the festival (exhibition) is held: a registration application stamped with the official seal of the applicant (including: the name of the film festival in Chinese and English, time, location, contact person of the film production unit, Contact number), and a copy of the film’s release permit.
