The Hundred Flowers Film Awards, a national literary and artistic award founded in 1962, is the oldest important award in the Chinese film industry. On July 2, the 37th Popular Film Hundred Flowers Awards announced the relevant information, nomination list and main visual design of this year’s awards.

The 37th Popular Film Hundred Flowers Awards has a total of 9 awards, namely: Best Film, Outstanding Film, Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Actress Supporting Actor, Best Newcomer. Among them, four films, "7 Thousand Miles Homeward ", "9 Chang'an Thirty Thousand Miles ", " Volunteer Army: Heroes Attack " and " Conferred Gods Part 1: Chaoge Fengyun" were nominated for the Film Award. Wang Baoqiang, Zhang Yimou, Wu Ershan, Jia Ling, and Dong Runnian were nominated for best director. Wang Junkai, Zhu Yilong, Andy Lau, Zhang Yixing, and Yi Yang Qianxi will compete for the best actor. The best actress will be chosen among Ma Li, Wang Zhi, Jia Ling, Ni Ni and Yin Tao. Yu Shi, Wang Ruoxi, Liu Yaowen, Yang Enyou, and Zhang Xincheng were nominated for Best Newcomer.

This year's Hundred Flowers Awards series of events is jointly sponsored by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the China Film Association, the Propaganda Department of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the Chengdu Municipal People's Government. It will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province from August 2 to 4. A series of activities will be held It includes six main contents including the opening ceremony, nominee commendation ceremony, forum, and film festival. Among them, the opening ceremony has the theme of "Flowers bloom in Guancheng, and hundreds of flowers bloom in Chengdu". It will display filmmakers' narrations, cultural programs and opening film screenings in sub-venues to create a wonderful dialogue between filmmakers and the audience, showing the new era. Since then, the film industry has been flourishing and prosperous.
